4th of July at Bates Creek

We spent the 4th of July at the cow camp on Bates Creek.  Lots of friends and neighbors joined us.

A few unusual things happened….

Cowboys were seen riding pink bycicles

and washing dishes.

And then there were the more traditional activities….

Casey made her famous taco dip

there was a kickball game

hiking up the falls to fish

lots of visiting and cowboy music.

I hiked up the hill to take some pictures.  Usually the view is very pretty and the pictures are too.  This year it was mostly smoke.

All in all it was a fun holiday and a good day to remember how lucky we all are to live in the United States of America.
